All of the car hire companies at Liverpool Airport have desks that can be found on the ground floor of the Short-Stay Car Park, you can find this, directly opposite the terminal building. Conveniently there are also key drop boxes in the Arrivals Hall of the?terminal building. The airport also has a car park where you can drop your hire car off when you are ready to return it. At the airport you will find Europcar, National, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise and Hertz.

Liverpool AIrport has a good number of shops, restaurants and cafes. Shops include Antler (travel accessories), Boots, Claire’s, SPAR, Travelex, WHSmith, With Love From Liverpool, and World Duty Free. ?Most of the shops are to be found in the Departure Lounge after security. If you are hungry you will find a Burger King, Cafe Ritazza, The Estuary Kitchen and Grill, Frankie and Benny’s, GO, Go Bar and Kitchen, JD Whetherspoon, The Kising Gate, Starbucks and Subway.
There is also an Aspire Premium Lounge. The Lounge offers free brand drinks, free hot and cold snacks, newspapers and magazines, and free Wi-Fi. It is open to all passengers, but children must be accompanied by an adult. The lounge is open 4.30am to 8pm. It is cheaper for you to pre book than just turn up. An adult costs ?19.95 or ?17.49 pre booked. Children ages 2-17 cost ?10.49 or ?9.99 pre booked. Under twos are free. The Lounge is in the Departure Lounge after security on the lower level.
If you want to connect to the internet via Wi-Fi at the airport then you can by accessing The Cloud. It is not free however (unless you are in the Premium Lounge) and you will need to pay for access.
There is a prayer room in Liverpool Airport, and you will find it after security on the upper level of the Departures lounge. The airport also has a chaplain who can be contacted via the information desk. The Chaplain is there for anyone that needs someone to talk to in confidence regardless of what there need may be. Another peaceful place to visit to collect your thoughts whilst at the airport is the Rainbow Garden. This is an ongoing project where people are planting in order to celebrate anniversaries or to remember a loved one.

If you are a Beatles fan then you will be spoilt for choice. You could drive your hire car to the Casbah Coffee Club for an interesting 1 hour tour. It is only a 20 minute drive from Liverpool Airport. Or you could drive your car hire to Mendips or 20 Forthlin Rd. The former is John Lennon’s old house and the latter Paul McCartney’s. Mendips is just an 11 minute drive from Liverpool Airport and 20 Forthlin Rd just a 10 minute drive from the airport. The house has been restored to what it would have looked like in the 1950’s and is well worth a visit.
No trip to Liverpool would be complete without a visit to Anfield, the home of Liverpool Football Club. If you pick up your car rental at Liverpool airport and drive just 10 miles north, you will get to the football ground in around 30 minutes. If you don’t catch a match then the tour is well worth doing for a bit of football history.
There is so much you can do in and around Liverpool, one thing that we enjoy is a tri pp to Crosby Beach. Here you will find Antony Gormley’s, Another Place. The beach has over 100 figures cast in iron and erected over a 3km area. Really worth seeing at sunset. From Liverpool airport drive your car hire 31 minutes North and give yourself around an hour to enjoy the strange but enchanting sights.
